Keting Sun was born in 1993 in China and is a London-based composer, researcher, creative director and artist. Her composition works focus on performing arts and instrumental sound exploration, combining Eastern cultural, spiritual and philosophical elements. Her works have been described as 'the future way to go' (Independent) and 'very attractive for its harmonic imagination, mastery of instrumentation' (Bachtrack).
Sun’s music has been performed in the UK, US, Europe and Asia. She has composed music for the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Singers, Ligeti Quartet, Psappha Ensemble, Riot Ensemble, Silk Road Ensemble, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan. Her music has been featured in many venues and festivals worldwide, including Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, King’s Place, Helsinki Concert Hall, Tête-à-tête Festival and National Concert Hall Dublin. Sun was awarded a place as a composer on the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme for 2022-23.
Sun graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (BA) and the Academy (MMus), where she is now completing a doctorate.
