Jenifer began her composition journey at Durham University reading a BA(Hons) in music with languages. Here she took several composition and performance modules, including contemporary composition and performance. Following graduation, Jenifer spent two years as a peripatetic music teacher before completing an MA in Composition at the Academy. Here she developed her composition style and technique, realising her preferred styles through experimentation and work with performers. She particularly enjoyed producing works such as Ubaye for String Quartet to showcase women composers and performers. Most of Jenifer’s works are centred around rivers and their energy, highlighting their journeys through the landscape.
Jenifer also studies Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at the University of Liverpool, another dream she has wanted to follow since school.
