Louise Drewett is a British composer. She has had long-term collaborations with poet Clare Shaw, writing works for voices and choirs, and with theatre company Arbonauts, writing for productions at Inside Out Dorset and Latitude festivals. In 2017, Louise became co-director of Sing Healthy, a charity running community choirs in Berkshire, for which she has written and arranged many pieces. Other projects include works for Festival Chorus, EXAUDI and the International Guitar Foundation. Louise’s community opera, Daylighting, commissioned for the Royal Academy of Music's 200th anniversary, was premiered in 2022, along with an orchestral work commissioned for the London Symphony Orchestra through the Panufnik Composers Scheme.
Louise studied with Philip Cashian on a scholarship at the Academy, where she was Manson Fellow in 2021/22. She was also awarded the Charles Lucas Prize for Composition in 2018 and 2019. Her studies were supported by a Countess of Munster Musical Trust Award and a Vaughan Williams Bursary from the RVW Trust.
