Tom Harrold is a Glasgow-born composer whose music has received performances worldwide by the BBC Symphony, BBC Scottish Symphony, BBC Philharmonic, Bournemouth Symphony, Scottish Chamber, Aurora and Birmingham Festival Orchestras, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, WorldBrass, Onyx Brass, SuperBrass, A4 Brass, Fodens Brass Band, Manchester Camerata, the Edinburgh Quartet, the Maxwell Quartet, the Endymion Ensemble, Trinity Boys Choir, the BBC Singers, Pro Coro Canada and Exaudi. His music has been aired at the Berlin Philharmonie, Maison Symphonique du Montréal, Royal Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, and he has written for soloists such as percussionist Colin Currie, saxophonist Emma McPhilemy, pianist Philip Sharp, soprano Carine Tinney and euphonium virtuoso Gary Curtin. His works for the stage include commissions for Birmingham Royal Ballet and Queensland Ballet.
Tom is a former winner of the BBC Proms/Guardian Young Composer Award. He is also an Associate Member of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester (where he studied and graduated under the tutelage of Professors David Horne, Adam Gorb and Gary Carpenter).
