Claudia Molitor is a composer, artist and improviser whose work hovers between music and sound art, extending across contemporary art practices, such as video and installation art. Exploring the relationships between listening and other senses as well as embracing collaboration as compositional practice is central to much of her work.
Larger scale projects include: Sonorama, an episodic work for a train journey, with Electra Productions, Turner Contemporary and the British Library, which received a British Composer Award; Vast White Stillness, a performance installation, for Spitalfields Festival and Brighton Festival; Walking with Partch for the Cologne ensemble Musikfabrik at hcmf//; Listen to my World, and audio-sculptural installation commissioned by Sounds Now and presented at Spor (Denmark), Transit, (Belgium) Time of Music (Finland) and the Onassis Centre in Athens; One Thousand Words for Weather, an evolving, nine-month sound installation commissioned and produced by ArtAngel at Senate House library, London.
