As part of the British Film Institute's multi-year restoration project of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes films, and in a new partnership between the BFI and the Academy, the scores were specially commissioned to accompany the screening of three newly restored films: The Golden Pince-Nez (which has not been seen since its premiere in 1922), A Scandal in Bohemia and The Final Problem.
On 16 October at Alexandra Palace the three restored films were screened for the first time, with the scores performed live by the Royal Academy of Music Soloists Ensemble and Joanna MacGregor, who also conducted our students.
Joanna discussed the project in an interview on BBC Radio 4's The World Tonight - listen here from 37:30.
