The Academy invited young people aged 14-17 to meet and work with the distinguished composer, producer and pianist in a 'pre-audition' masterclass. The session focused on unlocking creative potential, with the aim of helping young musicians of all backgrounds to build confidence for music school and conservatoire auditions.
Alexis shared his experiences of studying at the Academy, along with advice on the best way to tackle the auditions process, and went on to give a Q&A with current Academy student Joe Evans. The session ended with a ‘Pocket Symphony’ workshop, in which the participants collaborated in groups to compose their own music.
'It was an extremely valuable experience, especially meeting Alexis Ffrench and finding out how inspiration can come from anywhere!'
