She brings a wealth of experience from her career as a violinist, musical leader and ensemble director.
Borrani has been Leader of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe since 2008 and is a co-founder of the renowned collaborative ensemble Spira mirabilis. As a soloist, Borrani has worked with conductors including Claudio Abbado, Trevor Pinnock, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Bernard Haitink. This year she took up a position as Artist-in-Residence with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra.
In October 2019, leader Borrani played alongside the Academy Chamber Orchestra and members of Spira mirabilis in a captivating performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No 8 and Haydn’s Overture to L’isola disabitata. A Facebook live stream of the concert was broadcast to Academy supporters worldwide and has so far been watched by over 34,000 people.
