The Opus Klassik Awards in Germany celebrate exceptional achievements in the field of classical music, and are awarded by a specialist jury of representatives from the music and media industry. This year's winners were announced over the summer, and Martynas was presented with his award in a ceremony at the Berlin Concert Hall on Sunday 8 October, in which he also performed.
Martynas won the 'Instrumentalist of the Year' award for his debut album Autograph, released in March this year on Accentus Music, which spans a broad range of repertoire from his own arrangements of Bach and Philip Glass to original Lithuanian folk song compositions.
