We love violin student Roberts Balanas’s arrangement of AC/DC’s Back in Black.
Aliayta Foon-Dancoes helped launch our 200 Pieces series in January with a performance of A Last Postcard from Sanday, a previously unpublished work by Peter Maxwell Davies. The project sees 200 premieres performed to celebrate our Bicentenary in 2022. Aliayta kindly recorded a performance of this Orkney-inspired work from her home.
The Kanneh-Mason family opened their wonderfully creative home to UK television viewers for an episode of BBC Imagine entitled This House is Full of Music. The siblings study at the Academy and Junior Academy and are joined by their friend and fellow student, guitarist Plinio Fernandes, who is staying with the family. Catch up on the BBC iPlayer.
Student pianist Ariel Lanyi performed Beethoven’s Andante Favori from home in a video hosted on The Musicians' Company YouTube channel. He has been a member of their Young Artists' Programme since 2018.
