Two students on our JAMT Mentorship Programme are currently touring the UK as part of musical productions. Osian Salter is performing the lead role in The Parent Agency, a musical adaptation of David Baddiel’s best-selling book which has just finished a run of shows at Storyhouse Chester, and will premiere in London later this year. Osian also previously sung the role of Gavroche in Les Miserables on the West End in 2023.
Isabelle Chiara Dawodu is currently part of the children’s company for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in a swing role covering four characters. Isabelle is touring the UK with this production until August, visiting the Bristol Hippodrome, Leeds Grand Theatre, the Liverpool Empire and the Wales Millenium Centre, among many others.
The JAMT Mentorship Programme was launched in 2023 for young performers who are preparing to join the main company of the JAMT course. Mentees attend Junior Academy once a month and work with their own Musical Director, Ian Oakley, and Musical Theatre alum Nardia Ruth, as well as course leaders Grainne Renihan and Deborah Stinton. This is supported by the Academy's Widening Participation programme, which covers all fees for JAMT mentees.

We would also like to congratulate JAMT student Kaye Lee (pictured left), who took home three awards at the Stratford and East London Music Festival last month. Kaye won the first place trophies in all three of the Musical Theatre singing classes she competed in, with the adjudicator giving her the highest mark of 'outstanding' for one of her performances. Kaye also was one of seven performers to reach the final of the Festival's 'Young Musician of the Year' competition, for which the best 11-18 year old musicians across all solo musical disciplines at the Festival are selected.
