The Fibonacci Quartet, formed of violinists Kryštof Kohout and Luna De Mol, violist Elliot Kempton and cellist Findlay Spence, recently joined the Young Classical Artists Trust roster and are a Resident Ensemble at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid, as well as the Dutch String Quartet Academy in Amsterdam.

In 2024, they became the first ensemble to win both First and Audience prizes at the Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition in Italy. Other awards they have received include First Prize in the Royal Overseas League Chamber Music Competition and First Prize in the Cavatina Chamber Music Competition.

During the 2024/25 season the quartet will perform extensively throughout Europe and undertake residencies with ProQuartet in Paris and Britten Pears Arts in Aldeburgh, as well as teaching, performing and community outreach work at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Wales in their position as Resident Quartet.

'We are absolutely thrilled to be Nina Drucker Fellows and to forge a meaningful relationship with such an historic institution. We are confident that the fellowship will offer us both a rich environment for our own development and the exciting opportunity to give back to students through lessons, masterclasses and workshops. We can’t wait to get started!'

The Fibonacci Quartet

The Nina Drucker Quartet Fellowship is designed to enable talented string quartets to rehearse intensively and launch their career. Nina Drucker Fellows are given access to internal and external performance opportunities with a range of Academy partners and, in return, are expected to contribute through a wide range of activities which will include coaching chamber groups throughout the year.

The Nina Drucker Quartet Fellowship is named in memory of Nina Drucker, who was a Junior Academy piano student from 1945-1951 and left a generous gift to the Academy in her Will.
