Anna studied with Maija Lielausis at Junior Academy and later with William Bennett, after graduating from Oxford with a First in Russian
She has given recitals in the Purcell Room and for music societies and festivals in this country, Italy, Germany and in Sweden where she made a series of broadcasts on Swedish Radio. She has freelanced with various orchestras and chamber groups, and her ensemble Pipe Dreams has recorded music for two flutes and piano.
She has been a professor of flute for over 20 years at Junior Academy (she was awarded an honorary ARAM in 2000). Teaching is the focus of her interest and her pupils have enjoyed notable success. They have been an almost continuous presence in the NYO since 1993, including three as principal flute. Emma Halnan in 2010 was the second of her students to be a Concerto Finalist in the BBC Young Musician competition.
