She is Principal Flute of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra (Norway) having held the same position in OSESP (Sao Paulo, Brazil)
In addition to her role as first amanuensis Professor of Flute at the the University of Bergen she has a busy freelance career with major UK orchestras including LSO, Philharmonia, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, RSNO, BBC Philharmonic, Royal Opera House, RPO, ENO, Opera North, Northern Sinfonia, BBC NOW, Hallé, CBSO, London Sinfonietta, RTE amongst others.
With these orchestras she has toured internationally and recorded for BBC, NRK, Chandos, BIS, Hyperion and Resonus Classics labels. Her recording of works by Gorecki and Turnage gained critical acclaim from BBC Music and Gramophone magazines. She has also been a guest professor, examiner and given masterclasses and workshops for RAM, RCM and GSMD amongst others.
Anna has reviewed a variety of new music publications for Rhinegold Press and worked extensively in outreach across a wide spectrum including Jessie’s Fund, National Youth Orchestra, LSO Discovery and the Beddgelert Music Festival which she co-founded in 2013. In collaboration with ‘Musical Orbit’ she has delivered online webinars for Music Departments of UK Universities providing advice on the music business and online masterclasses.
Anna was the recipient of an Instrumental Award and Senior Exhibition at Emmanuel College Cambridge University and a Countess of Munster, Martin and EMI scholar for her postgraduate studies at the RCM with Paul Edmund-Davies and Jaime Martin.
