‘…precocious compositional strength.’ The Guardian
‘Høiby fashions his pieces so the lines between freedom and form are beautifully blurred, the music flows as a tumultuous organic whole - everything belongs, nothing is forced.’ MOJO
‘Revolving around Høiby’s powerfully mobile bass ostinatos, Phronesis’ groove-centred music has a visceral attractiveness on these beautifully recorded live sessions. The trio’s capacity for dialogue is gripping.’ The Irish Times
‘Take a deep breath before listening to this, because you might forget to breathe for much of the next 73 minutes. Phronesis make music that is exhilarating, enthralling and unlike any piano-trio jazz you have heard before.’ Sydney Morning Herald (Alive review).
