Judith was a member of the NYO and went on to study Double Bass at the Guildhall School of Music and in Italy
She was a member of the English National Opera orchestra, and has played with the major London Symphony orchestras. She has played with City of London Sinfonia, Scottish Baroque Ensemble, and the many of the early music, modern music and chamber music orchestras and ensembles of London.
She trained as an Alexander teacher with Patrick Macdonald and Shoshana Kamanitz. Judith is also a qualified teacher of Tai Chi. As a professional musician she brings an insight to her Alexander teaching that is useful to musicians. Judith teaches regularly at the senior Royal College of Music, Junior Academy and at the LCATT Alexander training school. Judith has collaborated with instrumental and singing professors at the RCM and runs specialised workshops for singers, wind and string players. She also gives classes on the Art of Performance. Judith has taught on many courses including the National Youth Orchestra, Dartington Summer School and teaches the music scholars at Oxford University.
Her first book on teaching Alexander Technique to young people is an e-book called Edukindness, while she has written for many music and Alexander journals and has been invited to give presentations to musicians, music students and Alexander teachers throughout Britain and Europe.
Judith teaches courses in the Alexander Technique for Singers, regularly at Dartington Summer school.
Judith has written a book with Peter Buckoke called The Alexander Technique for Musicians published by Bloomsbury.
