Sooz Kempner is an award-winning comedian, actress and singer, who has became a twitter sensation with her comedy political videos.
She is set to star in Doom's Day, a major new multi-platform Doctor Who spin-off.
Sooz did her very first stand-up gig in 2009 and won Best Newcomer at the Musical Comedy Awards in 2010 . She also graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2010.
In 2012 Sooz won the Variety Award at the Funny Women Awards.
She made her Edinburgh debut in 2014 and is performed her eighth solo fringe hour, PlayStation, at the 2022 fringe.
Sooz cohosts two podcasts, Mystery on the Rocks, a true crime and cocktails comedy podcast with comedians Chris Stokes and Masud Milas, and The Queen Podcast, the UK's official Queen podcast featuring licensed music by the band, alongside John Robins, Simon Lupton and Rohan Acharya,
Outside comedy Sooz performs in musical theatre and is a regular collaborator with Richard Thomas (Jerry Springer the Opera).
In June 2019 a tweet thread about a singing contract in Ayia Napa became a bit of an online sensation and is currently in development as a comedy-drama thriller with Mammoth Screen..
In 2023 she's increased her Twitter following to over 100k and gone viral with political videos playing Liza Minnelli, Nadine Dorries and Liz Truss. These have received press in The Guardian, The i Paper, The Independent and The Metro as well as in the LA Times and Chicago Tribune stateside.
Sooz has just been announced as Doom in Doom's Day, a major new multi platform Doctor Who spin-off series with the BBC and stars as a guest lead in an episode of an upcoming US sitcom for Amazon Prime and CBS.
