Tiana is an educator and practitioner, specialising in performance, writing, directing and producing for the stage and screen industries
Her educational approach is via facilitation of student-centred reflective practice, and co-creation of collaborative and playful learning environments.
Tiana began her career as a musician and singer in pop/rock bands and as a musical cabaret performer. She has performed on the main stage at the Reading Festival and at San Siro Stadium, Milan (with Balaam and the Angel) when she was 17, in two John Peel Sessions for BBC Radio 1 (with Quickspace Supersport and Robert Lloyd), and on recordings with Robert Lloyd (Virgin Records), Quickspace (Domino Records), Echo Park (Lo Recordings), and Numero Uno (Montepulciano). Numero Uno were house band at the peripatetic Club Montepulciano, the epicentre of the London’s alternative cabaret scene in the 1990s. Their residency at the Café de Paris was followed by several sold-out seasons at the historic Rivoli Ballroom, and to a live studio performance on BBC Radio 2’s Loose Ends. Tiana’s cabaret work culminated in her writing and performing as half of musical comedy duo Pearl and Dede.
In TV and film, Tiana worked in production on drama and documentary projects for clients including Disney, 20th Century Fox, BBC, ITV and Channel 4. She also worked as a writer/director and creative director for Discovery Networks. Tiana received an Emmy citation for production on The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (HBO/BBC Films).
Since 2013, Tiana has taught script writing, directing and acting at leading UK conservatoires and universities including London Film School and the University for the Creative Arts. She has also written and delivered acting and writing workshops, and coaching for private clients.
In 2022, Tiana graduated as a guild registered practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method of somatic education, and she delivers classes in the UK, Europe and online.
Tiana is an alumna of Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Royal Holloway, University of London and the Northern Film School.
