BRAHMS String Sextet No 1 in B flat, Op 18
Amarins Wierdsma, Christoph Slenczka and Yoanna Prodanova (Academy alumna) from the Barbican Quartet join forces with Academy students in a performance of Brahms’ much-loved String Sextet No 1 preceded by Verklärte Nacht, Schoenberg’s Expressionist tone poem, written only two years after the death of Brahms.
Barbican Quartet won the top prize at the 2022 ARD International Music competition, and are the current Nina Drucker Quartet Fellows at the Academy.
This event will include a short interval.
