NIELSEN Symphony No 4, Op 29, ‘The Inextinguishable’

Principal Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Academy alumnus Edward Gardner leads a performance of Turnage’s Refugee – extraordinary poetry set to powerful music – alongside a Nielsen symphony evoking ‘the elemental will to live’.
Kidane’s Sirens, a collaboration with Zimbabwean writer and poet Zodwa Nyoni, opens the programme.

As part of the 76th Aldeburgh Festival at Snape Maltings, the Academy Symphony Orchestra will also be joined by internationally renowned tenor and Academy alumnus Allan Clayton.
